Responder Area

Bridge of Don and Danestone First Responder Service are a registered charity in Scotland and, having been set up in September 2012, are a relatively new service.
We work in the same way as many First Responder Services around the country; responding on behalf of Scottish Ambulance Service to 999 calls within our area.
Although our primary area is in Bridge of Don, Danestone and surrounding areas we have attended calls elsewhere in the city when we have been asked to.
When you call 999 and the controllers allocate an Ambulance they will also allocate us as a resource should we be appropriate and within the area - this way both the Ambulance and the First Responders are on their way to attend your emergency. We carry basic Ambulance equipment including lifesaving defibrillators and oxygen cylinders.
As a service we are all volunteers and, receiving no funding from the government, we rely solely on charitable donations - if you would like to know how to donate then please click on the Donate link to the left.

There is no previous qualification nor experience required as all the training is provided by the Scottish Ambulance Service, the only thing that is required to join the Service is that you have your own car and have a full UK driver's licence.
